It’s every girl’s dream - to get married. To be able to finally have their man’s last name. As a teenager, I view marriage as a lifetime commitment. Not just some contract you both signed because you just wanted to and then when you got bored and all, you’ll break up, file an annulment or get divorced. It’s not like candy wrapper you can throw anywhere, anytime. It’s much bigger than that. It’s not just between you and your partner, it’s between you two and God and everyone. Once you committed to this, you promised everyone (God, family, friends) that you’re going to take care of each other. That you’ll do everything to make it work, to make it fruitful, to make it last. Marriage is definitely on my list. Maybe not now, but soon, I wanted to get married. I can imagine it. Walking down the aisle, taking your partner’s hand, the vows, the declaration, the kiss, everything. It’s not wrong to dream, is it? Someday, we’ll get there. But I hope, when the time comes, we’ll treasure it as much as we treasure our lives. I hope it’s not going to be just temporary just like our Facebook relationship status. I hope it’s going to be STATUS: MARRIED not just today, but forever. To infinity and beyond. ∞
